Christ Lives, Tom Minner

While on the staff at Oregon State University, I was invited to attend a series of Bible studies, and after attending for several weeks, I found my life was totally without purpose and for 32 years I had been living a self-centered and selfish life. As a result of these Bible studies, I was challenged to read the Gospel of John and I discovered for myself that Christ was who He claimed to be and that He would come into my life if I invited Him to do so. As I talked to Christians and saw that they had something I didn't have, I was ready to open my heart's door to Christ. I did invite Jesus Christ into my life. He has made a fantastic difference. He makes my life completely different, full of purpose and meaning. Old things have passed away and all things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17). Christ gave me love for my family that I never knew was possible.

After a few years I became hungry for further truth, so I went from church to church seeking for something more and a closer walk with Christ. One day I met some people that put me in touch with a group meeting as the local church in that area and through them I was able to get audio tapes of Witness Lee and books by Watchman Nee. As I poured over these books and tapes I was put on a road to the high truth, the meaning of everything both in heaven and earth and the real purpose for man. For me, there is no place like the local church, where the Body of Christ is a reality to me. I have been enjoying a deepening and closer relationship with Him through His Word and through the ministry of the Word. As I surrender my life to Him day by day, surely He is LIVING through me.
